Your books are sensitive. Here is exactly how Shiro keeps them safe.
Your PIN is never stored
We store a slow, salted hash of your 6-digit PIN, never the PIN itself. Easy PINs like 123456 or birthdays are refused. Repeated wrong PINs slow down and then require a one-time code.
New phone, new check
Signing in on a new phone needs a one-time code sent to your number plus your PIN. After a PIN reset, sensitive actions pause for 24 hours and your other phones are alerted.
Encrypted everywhere
Connections are encrypted. Anything saved offline on your phone is encrypted with a key made from your PIN.
Staff with limits
Each staff member has their own number and PIN. You decide what they can see and do, and can remove access instantly on every device.
Nothing silently changes
Every change is logged. Corrections reverse the original and keep it. Your ledger is tamper-evident.
Auto-lock
The app locks after a few minutes idle, useful when the shop phone passes between hands.
Log out is not erase
Logging out simply locks the app, your data stays exactly as you left it. Deleting your account is a deliberate action: Shiro warns you, asks for your PIN, gives you time to change your mind, and then removes your data according to our retention policy.
Support that asks first
Shiro staff cannot see your books unless you grant time-limited access in your Profile. Every access is logged, and support can never change your records, they guide you to make the correction yourself.
