What is Shiro?
Shiro is a voice-first bookkeeping app for Nigerian small businesses. You tell Shiro what you sold, bought, spent, or who paid you, Shiro understands, confirms with you, and keeps proper accounts for your business.
What is Shiro AI?
Shiro AI is the voice and business assistant at the heart of Shiro. Speak or type, it records your transactions, asks when something is missing, answers questions from your own records, explains your numbers simply and remembers the conversation. It never makes up figures.
Who is behind Shiro?
Shiro is built by SHIRO Global Links Limited, an innovation hub organisation in Nigeria founded by Dr. Bobadoye Ayodotun, with Dr. Abayomi Folajimi as Chief Executive Officer and Olayinka Williams Ajibola as Chief Technology Officer. You can read more on the About page.
How much does Shiro cost?
Shiro has five plans. Everyone starts on Limited: ₦50 a day or ₦1,500 a month. Starter is ₦3,000 a month (Profit & Loss, customers, inventory), Professional ₦6,500 (full statements, AI analysis, WhatsApp tools) and Business ₦15,000 (up to 10 users, with AI CFO and loan-readiness coming soon). How does it work?
Four steps: speak naturally, Shiro understands who, what, how much and whether it was paid, you confirm exactly what will be saved, then Shiro saves it and updates your accounts.
Which languages does Shiro speak?
Shiro speaks English, Nigerian Pidgin and Yorùbá, with natural Nigerian voices for all three. Hausa, Igbo and more Nigerian languages are planned. You can mix languages when you talk.
Does Shiro work without internet?
Yes, for recording. Without signal you can type a transaction or record your voice; Shiro keeps it safely on your phone and syncs it when you are back online. Nothing is added to your books until you confirm it.
Is my data safe?
Your account is protected by a 6-digit PIN that is never stored as plain text, new phones need a one-time code, data is encrypted in transit, and every change to your records is logged. Your business data is never visible to other businesses.
Is it real accounting?
Yes. Every confirmed record posts balanced double-entry journals. Shiro keeps a General Ledger, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow for you, and explains every number in plain language.
Why is my profit different from my cash?
Profit counts a sale when it happens, even if the customer pays later. Cash is the money actually received. Shiro shows both so you always know what you made and what is in your hand.
Can Shiro track who owes me?
Yes. Every customer and supplier gets a running balance built from real transactions. You can share a receipt or a polite balance statement on WhatsApp, you approve every message.
Can my shop assistant use it?
Yes. Each staff member gets their own phone number and PIN. Assistants can record sales, payments and expenses; only the owner controls billing, roles and deletions, and sees an activity feed of staff actions.
How do I sign up?
Tap Get Started. Shiro guides you: your name and phone number, your business details, then you create a 6-digit PIN and top up. It only takes a few minutes.
How do I log in?
Enter your phone number, Shiro confirms your account, then enter your 6-digit PIN. If you forget your PIN, reset it with a one-time code sent to your phone.
Does Shiro do my taxes?
No. Shiro does not calculate or file taxes. It keeps clean records that a qualified tax adviser can work from, and you can request a Shiro professional for help.
What is the difference between logging out and deleting?
Logging out only locks the app, your data stays safe. Deleting your account is a deliberate action with warnings and PIN confirmation, and your data is then removed according to our data policy.
Can I talk to a real person?
Yes. Tap Help in the app to chat with a Shiro professional, message us on WhatsApp, or book a consultation. Shiro itself is an assistant, not a human accountant.
Do I need to download an app?
No download is needed, Shiro runs in your phone browser. You can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app and works offline.
How do I use Shiro in a noisy place?
Shiro cleans the noise out of your voice on your phone and again on our server, and it listens only to the person holding the phone. For the best result: hold the phone about one hand away from your mouth, speak normally, and tap the mic when you finish. With an earpiece or headset, its microphone is even better, because it sits close to your mouth.
