Profit is not cash: why your hand can be empty on a good day
A credit sale can make you profit while your cash stays the same. Here is how to see both.
You sold goods worth ₦100,000 today, but the customer will pay next week. Did you make money today? In accounting, yes, the sale happened. In your hand, no, no cash came in.
Two views of the same day
Profit (accrual) counts a sale when you make it. Cash counts money when it arrives. Both are true, and you need both: profit tells you whether the business is doing well; cash tells you whether you can restock tomorrow.
| Profit view | Cash view | |
|---|---|---|
| ₦100,000 credit sale | +₦100,000 sales | ₦0 |
| Customer pays next week | no change | +₦100,000 |
How Shiro shows it
Your dashboard shows Sales and Cash received side by side, and “Where is my money?” shows cash in hand, bank and wallets separately. When you ask Shiro a question, it tells you which view it used.
Stop typing. Start talking.
Shiro runs in your phone browser, no download needed. Add it to your home screen and it works like an app, even offline.
